Nvidia Jetson TX1 devKit is here… and it’s a monster!

Tonight (Italy time) Nvidia unveiled its new Tegra embedded supercomputer, the Nvidia Jetson TX1.

Jetson TX1 is a computer module based on the Tegra X1 SoC, the evolution at 64 bit of the Tegra K1. The available CUDA cores are now 256, the CPU has 8 ARM A5 cores (4x A57 and 4x A53), full power for robotics applications!

But what really makes the difference between Jetson TK1 and Jetson TX1 is the design. Jetson TK1 was a all-in-one board little board, Jetson TX1 is a tiny module, a tiny powerful module that can be EXPANDED!!!

The Nvidia Jetson TX1 development kit is the first example of hot to expand the Jetson TX1. Nvidia developed a Mini-ITX sized carrier board for Jetson TX1 that demonstrates the full capabilities of the new product: PCIe 4x, GPIO at 1.8V and 3.3V, camera connection, diplay connection, Wifi and a lot of industrial connectors are available on the new board.

I must say that using it is really amazing, I tested it in the last days since I’m one of the lucky people that received a pre-release version since I’m part of the Jetson Champs program.
You can feel its power since the first minutes of utilization… stay tuned for more infos!!!
